Season-Bests Highlight Third Day of SEC Championships

2024 SwimDive 200 Free Relay SEC's

AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Missouri swimming and diving program had representatives in five different event finals on Wednesday, Feb. 21. All five saw the Tigers achieve either a season-best time or a personal record.

The 200 free relay squads got the evening shift started. First, the women’s relay featuring Sierra Smith, Zara Zallen, Francesca Smith and Taylor Williams came home in seventh with a season-best time of 1:28.78. Then, the men’s side of Daniel Wilson, Grant Bochenski, Darden Tate and Frederik Rindshøj dashed to eighth with a 1:17.68 standing, another season-high for the Tigers.

Sierra Smith highlighted the day in the individual events, securing an 11th place finish in the 50 free finals (22.44) after recording a personal record in prelims (22.41). Her career day placed her in sole 10th place in program history in the event.

Will Goodwin followed suit with a personal record of his own in the preliminary round of the 200 IM. He secured a 1:44.48 in the morning session before touching the wall in 1:44.84 to place 14th in finals. In the same race, Frederik Rindshøj earned a season-best time of 1:45.77 in prelims, then turned in a 1:47.43 to claim 23rd place in finals.

UP NEXT

Mizzou Swim and Dive is back in action for day four of the SEC Championships on Feb. 22. Prelims for the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free and the women’s 1-meter dive are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m., as fans can follow along live on SEC Network+.
