COLUMBIA, Mo.Sean Carlon is set to rejoin first-year head coach Glen Millican with the Missouri men’s golf program as an assistant coach, announced on Monday.

Carlon, who has enjoyed success at both the collegiate and professional levels, has spent the better part of the last decade with Millican at New Mexico – first as a student-athlete from 2015 to 2019, then as a volunteer assistant before serving as an assistant coach in 2022-23.

As an assistant this past season, Carlon teamed with Millican to help the Lobos reach the NCAA Championship Finals for the first time since 2017. New Mexico advanced by placing fourth at the NCAA Regionals before securing a final top-25 ranking in Arizona. Carlon also helped the program claim two team tournament titles during the campaign, while mentoring a top-30 individual finisher at the NCAA Championship in Matthew Watkins, a US Open qualifier in Bastien Amat and two All-Mountain West Conference honorees.

Carlon enjoyed a standout career with the Lobos from 2015 to 2019, earning All-Mountain West and All-West Region honors as a senior. In 2019, he helped lead New Mexico to the Mountain West Conference championship, finishing second overall at the tournament. He was also the Lobos’ top finisher at the NCAA Louisville Regional with a sixth-place finish in in his final collegiate tournament.

From 2019-22, Carlon played as a professional on various tours while also helping the Lobos as a volunteer assistant coach. He graduated in 2019 from New Mexico with a degree in communication, while minoring in criminology.
