MANHATTAN, Kan. — Seven Tigers found their way onto the podium, including a pair of victories and a pair of top ten program finishes, as Mizzou wrapped up day two of the DeLoss Dodds Invitational.
Freshman Sterling Scott, in just his second collegiate meet, took home first place in the men’s triple jump, posting a distance of 15.72 meters, good for sixth all-time in school history. Sophomore Rece Rowan collected MU’s second gold of the day, with a mark of 17.94 meters in the men’s shot put.
Junior Alicia Burnett found her way into the record book for the third time at the meet, with her 24.06 second mark in the women’s 200 meter being good for fourth all-time at Missouri.
Senior Eddie Zuercher finished second in the men’s mile with a time of 4:09.17, while juniors McKenna Revord (4:50.83, women’s mile), Claudina Diaz (1.80m, women’s high jump), Skylar Coffey (17.78, men’s shot put) and senior Quinton Brown (13.90m, men’s triple jump) all grabbed third in their respective events.
Scott, Rowan, Burnett, Zuercher, M. Revord, Coffey, and Brown’s marks were personal bests for the athletes.
Five other Tigers – Jack Forer (1:52.21, men’s 800 meter), Colby Revord (1:52.63, men’s 800 meter), Andrew Smock (4:14.01, men’s mile), Kaia Downs (10:10.51, women’s 3000 meter) and Luke Voelker (8:31.17, men’s 3000 meter) – all set new personal bests in their events, as well.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will send groups to the Tyson Invitational hosted by Arkansas and the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt next weekend, Friday Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10.
