Schultz, Jackson, Phillips Honored as AMC Athletes of the Week

St. Louis, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced the Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Sunday, Jan. 16.
 
Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Gracie Schultz
 
A freshman from Owensville, Mo., Schultz finished second in the triple jump (9.67-meters), third in the 4X400-meter relay, and fifth in the 200-meter dash (29.13) and long jump (4.98-meters). She scored 12.25 points and helped the team to a second-place team finish.
 
Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Malachi Jackson
 
A junior from Hallsville, Mo., Jackson competed in three events placing 8^th in both the 55-meter hurdle prelims and finals and 21^st in the 55-meter dash. His time in the prelims (8.18) and the 55-meter dash (7.00) are new personal records. Additionally, he was apart of the 4X400-meter relay team that finished third.
 
Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Ethan Phillips
 
A freshman from Arnold, Mo., Philips won the triple jump (12.62-meters), while adding a new personal record in the long jump (6.19-meters, 7^th place) at the 2022 Redhawks Invitational. In addition, he finished 19^th in the 55-meter dash (7.17) and helped the 4X400-meter relay team to a third-place finish.
