Parker Brothers Lead Cougars Past Ozarks

Point Lookout, Mo. – Carson and Collin Parker each scored 18 points to lead the Columbia College men’s basketball team to a 79-59 non-conference road win at College of the Ozarks Tuesday in Point Lookout, Mo.
 
Carson was 7-of-7 from the field and connected on a season-high point total, while Collin was 7-of-10 from the field and scored in double figures for the 26th time this season.
 
Trever Moore also scored in double figures with 11 points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting for Columbia, who shot 48.4 percent (31-64) from the field in the win and had a 43-8 advantage in bench points.
 
Columbia won its sixth-straight game to improve to 22-5, while College of the Ozarks lost its second-consecutive game and fell to 12-13.
 
The Cougars hit three of their first four shots from beyond the arc, and a three by Moore gave Columbia a 13-10 lead. Tied at 13-13, Carson Parker (7), Collin Parker (6) and Moore (6) combined to score all 19 points during a 19-0 run to extend the lead to 32-13.
 
Columbia took a 44-21 lead to half behind 14 points from Collin Parker, who hit a pair of threes in the final 45 seconds. The Cougars shot 53.1 percent (17-32) from the field and hit 7-of-13 from three-point range in the first half. 
 
The lead grew to 30 (57-27) with 14:20 to play after four-straight points by Carson Parker.
 
Kyle Flavin (13 points), Caleb Faulkner (12), Andrew Dalton (10) scored in double figures for Ozarks, who shot 38.6 percent (22-57) from the field in the loss.
 
The Cougars close out the 2023-24 regular season on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Harris-Stowe State University. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. in St. Louis.
 
NOTES: Columbia leads the all-time with College of the Ozarks 17-8 … The Cougars have recorded 22 or more wins in back-to-back seasons … Columbia did not miss a FT (8-of-8).
