Campbellsville, Kentucky – The Cougars of Columbia College traveled to take on the Tigers of Campbellsville University for a non-conference matchup today. An offensive battle that saw both teams combine for 43 shots, the game would end in a draw, 3-3.

The tie puts Columbia at 7-1-1 on the season, while Campbellsville moves to 2-5-3.

Abigail Logan-Ritz got the scoring started for the Cougars after she was able to convert off a pass from Macie Lucas in just the fifth-minute of play.

The Cougars and Tigers both exchanged good looks on offense, with a Tiger shot hitting the crossbar even.

In the 36th-minute, Isabella Govero dribbled between two defenders and took a shot that made its way up and over the keeper and into the upper right corner of the goal, giving Columbia the 2-0 lead heading into half time.

Campbellsville seemed to find new life in the second-half as they scored three unanswered goals within a ten-minute span to take a late 3-2 lead.

With less than three minutes remaining, Emilia Zolesio Fernandez Blanco hurriedly took a corner kick that found the head of Riley Porter who was able to score the equalizer for CC.

The Cougars out-shot the Tigers in the match, 27-16.

Columbia returns home to get back into conference play. They play host to the Eagles of Williams Baptist University this Saturday, October 7th. The American Midwest Conference match is set to start at 12:00PM.
