COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 20 Missouri football team scored the first 24 points and never looked back against South Carolina, earning a 34-12 victory on Homecoming Saturday afternoon.

A pair of first-quarter touchdowns by Luther Burden III and Cody Schrader gave the Tigers (7-1, 3-1 SEC) an early advantage. Mizzou added 10 more points in the second frame before the Gamecocks (2-5, 1-4 SEC) finally got on the board. South Carolina would only pull as close as 15 points the remainder of the game only for Schrader’s second rushing touchdown of the game to seal the victory with under three minutes remaining.

In addition to his pair of touchdown runs, Schrader rushed for 159 yards on the day. Brady Cook tallied two touchdowns – one through the air and one on the ground – with Burden leading Mizzou with 90 receiving yards, highlighted by his 42-yard score in the first.

The Tigers return to action on Nov. 4, playing at No. 1 Georgia.
