No. 17 Softball Opens Play at The Spring Games

LEESBURG, Fla. – No. 17 University of Missouri Softball (4-2) will play five games over three days as a part of The Spring Games. On Friday, Mizzou will face South Alabama and North Carolina at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. CT, respectively.

The Tigers went 3-2 to begin the season at the Northern Lights Invitational, with a win over No. 24 Liberty.

Jordan Weber has led the Tigers in the circle, amassing a 2-0 record across four appearances with an ERA of 0.91 over 15.1 innings pitched. Opposing hitters are batting only .070 off Weber (3-for-43). The only two earned runs that she has been credited with scored after she left the game. She and Laurin Krings combined to shutout Florida Gulf Coast in the Tigers’ last time out.

Jenna Laird has led the Tigers offensively. The reigning SEC Freshman of the Year is batting .389 with two doubles, a home run and a .500 on-base percentage. Laird also leads the team with three stolen bases through six games.

Another sophomore, Alex Honnold, has been very productive through the first six games. She has started each game in right field while batting in the middle of the order. Honnold smacked two doubles in the win over No. 24 Liberty.
