No. 14 Volleyball Sweeps AMC Newcomer on Road

Nevada, Mo. – The No. 14-ranked Columbia College volleyball team took on American Midwest Conference newcomers Cottey College on the road tonight. The Cougars earned another AMC sweep with a 25-16, 25-14, 25-17 decision over the Comets of Cottey College. With the win, the Cougars improve to 23-9 overall and 9-0 in the AMC. Columbia has one final regular season contest as they travel to Fulton, Mo. on Thursday with a 6:00pm match against William Woods University. 

Columbia seemed to control every statistical category tonight as they dominated in kills (46-20), while also leading in service aces (6-4) and digs (70-51). The Comets led in blocks (7-4).

Allana Capella and Abby Massengill led the Cougar offense with 10 kills, respectively. Danielle Prior and Beyza Bektasoglu followed with seven kills each. 

Luisa Ferreira, the reigning AMC Setter of the Week, dished out a match-high 31 assists to go along with a match-high 14 digs.

Magdalena Bostal picked up 11 digs, while Olivia Skipworth had seven and Kate Pani had six.
