No. 13 Women’s Soccer Rolls to Ninth-Straight Win

Columbia, Mo. – The No. 13-ranked Columbia College women’s soccer team won its ninth-straight game with a 7-0 victory at Stephens College Wednesday. Six Cougars found the back of the net in the win.
 
Columbia picked up its ninth-straight win to improve to 10-3-1 (5-0 AMC), while Stephens dropped to 1-12-2 (1-3-1 AMC). The Cougars have won all 13 all time meetings between the two teams.
 
Columbia outshot Stephens 23-4 and had a 15-0 advantage in shots on goals.
 
The Cougars scored three goals in the opening 9:18 to take a commanding 3-0 advantage. Macie Lucas, Abigail Logan and Jewel Moreland all found the back of the net for Columbia. Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco added a tally in the 21st minute to make it 4-0 at halftime.
 
Izzy Cole scored in the first minute of the second half, and then Madeleine Shylanski netted two second-half goals to round out the scoring.
 
Victoria Heus (75:00) and Rebecca Albritton (15:00) combined for the shutout in goal.
 
The Cougars, who remain tied for first in the AMC standings with 15 points, celebrate Senior Day against William Woods University on Friday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m.
