COLUMBIA, Mo. — The No. 12-ranked University of Missouri gymnastics team (3-1, 0-1 SEC) hits the road for its second SEC road dual meet in as many weeks against No. 20 Georgia (1-1, 0-1 SEC). First touch from Stegeman Coliseum is slated for 1 p.m. CT, and the action will stream live on SEC Network+.

LAST TIME OUT
  • In its first SEC outing of 2024, No. 3 Missouri made the trip south to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for a top-five showdown against No. 4 Alabama.
  • In a hard-fought defeat, the Tigers secured two individual event titles at Coleman Coliseum, as Jocelyn Moore picked up the vault title and Sienna Schreiber clinched her second beam title in as many meets.
  • Thanks to a consistent team effort, the Tigers scored a 49.375 on vault for the program’s fifth-best single-meet score on the apparatus.
  • Additionally, Missouri scored a 49.350 on floor to mark the 38th consecutive meet in which the Tigers broke the 49.000 threshold on the event.
MIZZOU IN THE RANKINGS
  • The Tigers enter the third week of competition sitting in the No. 12 position in the Road To Nationals standings, the same position they entered the season in.
  • Two Missouri apparatus scores rank among the top 10 in the country, as the team’s vault and floor lineup both sit at sixth in the country.
  • Mizzou also ranks among the top 25 on beam and bars, slotting in at the No. 19 and No. 22 spots, respectively.
IT JUST MEANS MOORE
  • Just two weeks into the 2024 season, junior Jocelyn Moore is already in midseason form.
  • The Hillsborough, New Jersey, native has wowed on both vault and floor in her first two meets of the season and scored 9.9 scores on both apparatuses in the Tigers’ competition against Alabama.
  • Moore posted a 9.975 in the season-opening Mizzou Invitational on Jan. 6 to tie for the best score in the nation, then followed up her performance with a 9.900 at Alabama.
  • Her two-meet average of 9.938 is tied for the fifth-best mark in the country.
  • The two-time WCGA Regular-Season All-American on vault claimed her first title on the apparatus in 2024 at Alabama, scoring a 9.925.
SHE’S A FRESHMAN?!
  • Freshman Hannah Horton has impressed as one of the top freshman gymnasts in the SEC through the first two weeks of the campaign.
  • In Mizzou’s most recent outing against Alabama, the stud from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota became the first Tiger freshman to score two 9.9s in the same meet since Amari Celestine at the 2022 NCAA Championships by recording a 9.900 on both floor and vault.
  • This performance follows up an auspicious debut at the Mizzou Invitational on Jan. 6, where she won the vault title with a 9.875 and produced her first collegiate 9.9 on floor.
WE LOVE SI
  • Graduate student Sienna Schreiber has made the most of her final season in the Black and Gold so far, shining in the all-around and especially on beam.
  • The fifth-year leader from Cumming, Georgia, notched her second beam title of the season with a jaw-dropping 9.950 routine on the road at Alabama.
  • After scoring a 9.925 on the apparatus at the Mizzou Invitational, Schreiber’s 9.938 beam average is tied for sixth in the country.
  • Additionally, Schreiber upped her all-around score to 39.500 as she produced a 9.850 or higher on all four rotations.
FIN GETS THE START
  • After an astounding 9.900 floor performance in exhibition at the Mizzou Invitational, freshman Kennedy Griffin earned her first collegiate starting nod in the floor lineup at Alabama.
  • The Strongsville, Ohio, product slotted into the second spot in the Tigers’ floor rotation, giving the world its first taste of her Destiny’s Child-inspired routine.
  • Griffin lived up to her high expectations, putting up a 9.825 effort in her first competitive routine for Mizzou.
RANKING THE TIGERS
  • The Tigers have four individual gymnasts ranked among the top 25 on different events.
  • Jocelyn Moore has the highest individual rank of any Mizzou gymnast, tying for fifth in the country on floor with an average of 9.938.
  • Missouri sports another gymnast ranked in the top 10 on an apparatus, as Sienna Schreiber slots in seventh on beam with an average of 9.938. She also takes the 18th position in the country in the all-around with a 39.450 average.
  • Hannah Horton is the only Missouri gymnast to hold top-25 placements on multiple events, ranking 16th on vault at 9.887 and 22nd on floor with a 9.900 average.
  • Amari Celestine rounds out the ranked Tigers, holding the 22nd spot on vault with a 9.875 score.
LAST TIME VS. GEORGIA
  • In Missouri’s 2023 SEC opener, the No. 14 Tigers earned their third consecutive head-to-head  victory over the No. 20 Bulldogs, 196.975-196.425, Jan. 13, 2023. The win served as Missouri’s first win in an SEC opener since 2017.
  • The Tigers dominated the second half of the meet, outsourcing the Bulldogs, 98.800-98.225 as Missouri’s streak of scores over 49 on floor reached 25 meets and the Tigers didn’t count a score below 9.8 on beam. 
  • Missouri held at least a share of all four event titles. Jocelyn Moore claimed the vault title outright with a 9.875, while Helen Hu earned a share of the bars and beam title, recording a 9.925 on both apparatuses to share the bars title with a pair of Bulldogs and the beam crown with Sienna Schreiber. Alisa Sheremeta and Hannah McCrary shared the floor title with Georgia’s Amanda Cashman.
ALL-TIME VS. THE BULLDOGS
  • Missouri enters the matchup against Georgia trailing in the all-time series, 5-22. 
  • The Tigers have bested the Bulldogs in the last three dual meets dating back to 2021.
