Kansas City, Mo. – Columbia College women’s soccer players, Jewel Morelan and Abigail Meyer, have been named National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-Americans the organization announced on Wednesday.
The NAIA All-America Committee, which consists of the NAIA-Women’s Soccer Coaches Association officers and seven additional women’s soccer coaches, select the three 11-member teams and the honorable mention teams.
Junior forward, Jewel Morelan, earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team, making her a back-to-back recipient of the award. Morelan, a Wentzville, Mo.-native, led the Cougars with 15 goals and was tied for the team lead with 36 points. Earlier this season, Morelan was named First-Team All-American Midwest Conference (AMC), AMC Player of the Year, and College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Academic All-District.
Joining Morelan on the Honorable Mention list is fifth-year defender, Abigail Meyer. Meyer, a St. Louis, Mo.-native, appeared in 20 games on the back line for CC, adding three assists and a goal on the season while helping the Cougars to 12 shutouts. Meyer becomes a two-time NAIA All-America honoree after being named Honorable Mention in 2020. Earlier this season, Meyer was named First-Team All-AMC, CoSIDA Academic All-District, and CoSIDA Academic All-America.
