Moore Wins Vault Title Against No. 3 Florida

Florida Team Huddle After 2 Rotation

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The No. 15 University of Missouri gymnastics team hit the road to face No. 3 Florida on Friday in the O’Connell Center. The Tigers kept pace in the first two rotations but ultimately fell to the Gators 196.625 to 198.350. 

BARS

The Tigers’ bars rotation scored a collective 49.225, the highest scoring event of the night for the Tigers. The Tigers were led by senior Helen Hu scoring a 9.925. 

Senior Sienna (9.825), senior Hollyn Patrick (9.775), sophomore Amari Celestine (9.825), graduate student Alisa Sheremeta (9.850), and sophomore Jocylen Moore (9.850) also competed in the rotation.

VAULT

Missouri continued its outing with the vault rotation, led by Moore in the bottom half of the lineup with a 9.925 score. Celestine finished narowly behind her scoring 9.875.

Junior Sydney Schaffer (9.675), graduate student Hannah McCrary (9.725), Schreiber (9.825), Davis (9.700) additionally partook in the event. The Tigers finished their second rotation with a 49.050.

FLOOR

In the floor rotation, Celestine again led the Tigers a 9.900 finish. Moore and Sheremeta finished slightly behind her with a 9.85, followed by Schreiber and sophomore Alonna Kratzer each scoring 9.800.

Missouri scored 49.150 as a unit to enter the final rotation with a score of 147.475.

BEAM 

Mizzou rounded out the meet on beam with Lawrence tallying a 9.8. Schreiber held the team high score of 9.950. 

Lawrence (9.800), McCrary (9.775) and Sheremeta (9.925) all contributed to the last push to collectively post a rotation team score of 49.200 — for the final team score of 196.625. 

UP NEXT

The Tigers return home next Sunday  to take on No. 5 Auburn in the Hearnes Center. The meet will start at 5 p.m. and will air on SEC Network.
