Moore Secures Second SEC Specialist of the Week Honor of 2024

Jocelyn Moore

COLUMBIA, Mo. — University of Missouri gymnastics junior Jocelyn Moore earned the final SEC Specialist of the Week award of the 2024 season, the conference announced Tuesday. The accolade is Moore’s third career weekly award honor and her second in the 2024 season.

The Hillsborough, New Jersey, native made history Sunday afternoon at the Illinois Quad meet, recording Missouri’s first perfect 10 on floor in program history. After earning a perfect score on vault last season, Moore also became the first Tiger in team history to score a 10 on multiple events.

Thanks to her efforts, Missouri set a program record floor score of 49.700, which marked the highest score on the apparatus in the conference this weekend.

Moore also guided the Tigers to a program vault record with a 49.500 team score, winning the event title with a 9.950. Her Yurchenko layout 1 ½ tied her season-best score on the event and bolstered her push for a third consecutive WCGA Regular-Season All-America finish.

With one meet remaining, Moore is tied for seventh in the country in floor NQS with a program-record 9.960 and is in position for the first Regular-Season All-America finish of her career on the event. On vault, Moore’s NQS of 9.910 is tied for 17th in the nation and sits just a half-tenth out of an All-America position.

With her second SEC Specialist of the Week award this season, Moore is one of three gymnasts to earn Specialist of the Week plaudits multiple times in 2024, alongside teammate Mara Titarsolej and Kentucky’s Makenzie Wilson. With four such accolades this season, the Tigers finish 2024 with the most SEC Specialist of the Week award wins of any team in the conference.
