Moore Homers Three Times to Lead Tigers Past Aggies

Moore Walkoff Homer Celebration

COLUMBIA, Mo.  Graduate student Hatti Moore became the second Tiger to homer three times in a single game with a walkoff two-run blast in the bottom of the eighth inning as Missouri (30-17, 9-9 SEC) downed Texas A&M (27-19, 5-14 SEC), 7-5. Jordan Weber tossed a career-high eight innings, picking up her fourth-consecutive win.

RECAP

The Tigers got the scoring started in the bottom of the third with back-to-back homers from Hatti Moore and Jenna Laird, both solo shots to left center.

Texas A&M got on the board with a solo homer off the bat of Katie Dack in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 2-1.

Mizzou answered right back in the home half. Alex Honnold doubled off the center field wall to lead off the inning to put a runner in scoring position early. Kara Daly bunted her over and Emma Raabe walked to put runners on the corners. On a 3-2 pitch, Hatti Moore crushed another home run to left field, giving the Tigers a 5-1 lead.

The Aggies did not go away. A pair of homers in the top of the sixth tied it right back up. Morgan Smith hit a solo home run to center and Rylen Wiggins hit a three-run shot to left center that just snuck over Casidy Chaumont’s glove in left center.

Hatti Moore concluded her historic night in the eighth inning. Stepping up to the plate with a runner on first and two outs, she crushed the first pitch that she saw over the center field wall for the walkoff blast.

NOTES

Hatti Moore is the first Mizzou player to hit three home runs in a single game since Lindsey Ubrun on March 12, 2008 against Wichita State.

Moore matched her career-high with six RBI. Tonight’s contest was her first multi-hit game of the season.

Alex Honnold recorded the first four-hit game of her career. She went 4-for-4 with a double.

Jordan Weber went a career-high eight innings to pick up the complete-game win. She has earned the win in four-consecutive appearances.

Brooke Wilmes pushed her hitting streak to nine with a 1-for-2 effort. She also drew a pair of walks.

Mizzou has homered at least three times in each of the last five games. The Tigers have hit 26 over their last nine games.
