COLUMBIA, Mo. —  On the heels of earning the University of Missouri’s first NCAA Tournament berth since 2020, Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year Dawn Sullivan sat down to discuss the 2023 season and looking ahead to the Tigers’ postseason matchup with Delaware.

In Sullivan’s first season at Mizzou, the Tigers (17-12) exceeded their win total from the last two years combined and earned an at-large invitation to the NCAA’s field of 64. Mizzou faces Delaware on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 in the first round of the NCAA Lincoln Regional. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m., CT, at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mizzou’s eight-win improvement from 2022 ranks second among all programs in the Power Five conferences.

On Saturday, Sullivan was named SEC coach of the year, her third conference coach of the year award, following Mountain West coaching honors in 2020 and 2022 when she coached at UNLV.

“It brought joy to my heart to see how many people reached out, former teammates, former players I coached,” she said, “and how blessed they felt to be part of my life and to celebrate that moment with me.”
