Mizzou Volleyball Heads to Cardinal Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – – Mizzou Volleyball (0-3) embarks for the Cardinal Classic, which will take place Friday-Sunda (Sept. 3-5) inside the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena in Louisville, Ky.

The weekend starts with a Friday match against 12th-ranked Louisville at 6:00 p.m. Followed by Northern Kentucky on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and South Dakota on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

Friday’s match against the host Cardinals will air on ACCNX.

SERIES SNAPSHOT

  • Mizzou is 2-2 all-time against Louisville. The last time they met was 2004, with all bouts before then happening in the early 1980s.
  • The Tigers have never competed against Northern Kentucky. The Norse are 19-23 all-time against SEC opponents.
  • Mizzou holds a 3-0 record all-time against South Dakota. Their most recent meeting was last April in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, where the Tigers swept the Coyotes 3-0.

MIZZOU NOTABLES

  • Junior Anna Dixon leads the team in kills with 40 already this season. Dixon also recorded her first double-double as a Tiger last weekend.
  • Sophomore Emily Brown has already recorded an impressive 40 digs through three games. She looks to build on last season when she became the first freshman to lead Mizzou in digs since 2004.
  • Freshman Kayla Burbage had five blocks in her debut last weekend. She leads the team with 11 blocks on the season and finished with a 1.10 blocks per set mark.
