COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom during the Fall 2023 semester, registering a cumulative grade-point average of 3.33, the highest Fall semester student-athlete GPA in the university’s history.
This marks the second-highest semester GPA in the history of Mizzou’s Department of Athletics and the 14th-consecutive semester with an average GPA of 3.0 or higher. The previous high GPA for the Fall semester came in 2022 (3.32). In the Spring of 2023, Mizzou student-athletes posted the highest GPA in school history (3.35).
Overall, 79 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA during the Fall semester across 18 programs, while 261 finished with a 3.50 or higher and 380 recorded at least a 3.0.
Four programs posted their highest Fall semester GPAs over the last 20 years, since the 2004 Fall semester: women’s basketball, soccer, men’s track and field and wrestling.
Below are individual program highlights from Mizzou’s 2023 Fall semester.
Baseball
• Fall GPA of 3.29 second-highest over the 20 years.
• Sixth consecutive Fall GPA above 3.0
• Two student-athletes posted 4.0 GPAs, 20 at 3.5 or better.
Men’s Basketball
• Fall GPA of 3.36 second-highest over the last 20 years.
• Second consecutive Fall GPA above 3.0.
• One student-athlete recorded 4.0 GPA, seven at 3.5 or better.
Women’s Basketball
• Overall Fall GPA of 3.62 is the program’s highest over the last 20 years.
• Third straight Fall semester at 3.0 or better.
• Five student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs, 11 at 3.5 or better.
Men’s Cross Country
• Fall GPA of 3.32 is sixth-best since 2004.
• Fourth consecutive Fall semester at 3.0 or better.
• Three student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs, six at 3.5 or better.
Women’s Cross Country
• Fall GPA of 3.66 is third-highest in the last 20 years.
• Twenty consecutive Fall semesters at 3.0 or better.
• Seven student-athletes posted GPAs of 4.0, 14 at 3.5 or better.
Football
• Fall GPA of 2.88, fourth-highest since 2004.
• Six student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs, 35 at 3.5 or better.
Men’s Golf
• Team GPA of 3.34.
• Third straight Fall semester at 3.0 or better.
• Two student-athletes posted 4.0 GPAs, seven at 3.0 or better.
Women’s Golf
• Fall GPA of 3.70 second-highest since 2004.
• Eleventh consecutive Fall semester above 3.0
• Three student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs, 10 at 3.5 or better.
Gymnastics
• Fall GPA of 3.46 is third-highest since 2004.
• Seventh consecutive Fall semester above 3.0.
• Six student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs, 14 at 3.5 or better.
Soccer
• Fall GPA of 3.82 highest among all MU programs, highest team GPA over the last 20 years.
• Seventh consecutive Fall semester at 3.0 or better.
• Seventeen student-athletes recorded 4.0s, 27 at 3.5 or better.
Softball
• Fall GPA of 3.56 second-highest in the last 20 years.
• Tenth consecutive Fall semester at 3.0 or better.
• Four student-athletes posted 4.0 GPAs, 13 at 3.5 or better.
Men’s Swim & Dive
• Fall GPA of 3.39 second-highest since 2004.
• Ninth consecutive Fall GPA at 3.0 or better.
• Three student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs, 17 at 3.5 or better.
Women’s Swim & Dive
• Fall GPA of 3.60 third-highest over the last 20 years.
• Team has averaged better than 3.0 GPA for 20 consecutive Fall semesters.
• Four student-athletes posted GPAs of 4.0, 21 at 3.5 or better.
Tennis
• Fall GPA of 3.75 second-highest over the last 20 years.
• Fifteen consecutive Fall semesters at 3.0 or better.
• One student-athletes earned 4.0 GPA, six at 3.5 or better.
Men’s Track & Field
• Fall GPA of 3.31 is team’s highest over the last 20 years.
• Fourth straight semester at 3.0 or better.
• Eight student-athletes posted 4.0 GPAs, 20 at 3.5 or better.

• Fall GPA of 3.55 is second-highest since 2004.

• Fall GPA Of 3.53 is second-highest since 2004.

Wrestling
• Fall GPA of 3.19 is team’s best over the last 20 years.
• Four straight Fall semesters at 3.0 or better for team GPA.
