COLUMBIA, Mo. – On Thursday, Mizzou Softball Coach Larissa Anderson announced the addition of Junior College catcher Addie Lange to a loaded 2021 signing class. She adds another big bat to one of the nation’s premier lineups.
“Addie had a great two years at Vol State, including being named an All-American this past season.” Anderson said. “She has been a Mizzou Tiger fan her entire life with strong family ties to Missouri. We are so excited that she is going to be a part of this program.”
Lange spent two years at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee and put up impressive offensive numbers. She played in 66 games while batting .459 with 32 home runs, 123 RBI and an OPS of 1.023.
In her final season at Vol State, she batted .435 with 13 doubles, three triples and 21 home runs while driving in 81 over 48 games. With this performance, she earned NJCAA First Team All-American honors, and she was named the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association Player of the Year.
“Over everything else, the coach matters. Coach Anderson believes in her players, and you can tell her players believe in her,” Lange said. “What Coach Anderson has accomplished over the past three years is nothing short of amazing! Who wouldn’t want to play for her?”
Mizzou has always been Lange’s top school. Her parents, David and Alicia, are both Missouri natives. She intends to study forensic psychology.
