Mizzou Open SEC Tournament Thursday With Arkansas

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball earned the No. 9 seed in the 2022 Southeastern Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament and will face No. 8 Arkansas at noon CT on Thursday in Nashville.

The game will air on SEC Network and the Tiger Radio Network. The tournament returns to Nashville for the first time since 2018 and is set to run March 2-6, 2022, at Bridgestone Arena.

SERIES BUSINESS
• The Tigers (18-11) and Razorbacks (17-12) will meet for the third time this season. Arkansas won both contests, winning 83-73 in Fayetteville on Jan. 9 and 88-71 on Feb. 13 inside Mizzou Arena.
• Arkansas leads the all-time affair 17-12 and have won six in-a-row over the Tigers.

THE SHOOTAROUND
• Mizzou closed out the regular season in style on Sunday, upsetting No. 21/15 Florida on the road. Hayley Frank’s first double-double of the season, 26 points and 10 rebounds, led four Tigers in double digits. 
• Frank and Aijah Blackwell earned Second-Team All-SEC honors.
• MIzzou’s 18 wins this season matches its combined win total from 2019-20 and 2020-21.
• The Tigers started the year with an 8-game winning streak, the best since 2015-16 and its 11-2 nonconference record represents the program’s best since 2017-18.
• With 14 points and 18 rebounds vs. Mississippi State, junior guard Aijha Blackwell recorded her 19th double-double of the season and the 39th of her career. 
• Blackwell has 332 rebounds on the season, good for third on the Mizzou all-time single-season chart.
• Blackwell (No. 38) and Frank (No. 39) both joined the Tigers’ 1000-career points club this season.
• Frank (72) and Lauren Hansen (60) are the first Mizzou WBB teammates to hit 60+ 3-pointers in a season.
• Frank has five-straight games with double-digit points. She totals a team-leading 449 points on the season and has led the Tigers in scoring in 12 contests.
• Ladazhia Williams, 9.1 ppg & 3.9 rpg, was honored as the team’s lone senior on Feb. 20 at Mizzou Arena.
