Mizzou Hoops Faces Iowa State in 2022 Big 12/SEC Challenge

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Men’s Basketball will square off at longtime rival Iowa State in the 2021-22 Big 12/SEC Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. Television designations and tip times will be announced at a later date for the ninth edition of the annual event, with each game airing on the ESPN family of networks.

The Tigers are making their third-consecutive appearance in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Mizzou is 2-2 all-time in the event after defeating TCU 102-98 in overtime last season.

The SEC won the 2021 SEC/Big 12 Challenge by winning five of the nine games played. The SEC holds a 25-24 advantage over the last five years of the event.

Mizzou and Iowa State will meet for the 236th time next January. The Tigers lead the all-time series, 150-85, with wins in 10 of the last 11 meetings between the programs. Iowa State handed Mizzou a 76-59 loss the last time the teams met on Nov. 9, 2018, in Ames, while the Tigers last series win was 74-59 decision in Cuonzo Martin’s debut game along the Tiger sideline in Columbia, Nov. 10, 2017.
