Mizzou Athletics Receives Leadership Commitment To Support Fan Experience

Elliott Family

COLUMBIA, Mo. – A leadership commitment from longtime University of Missouri Athletics donors Tim and Crystal Elliott will help fund the installation of a new videoboard at Mizzou Arena for the 2023-24 season.

The new Daktronics display replaces the current scoreboard that was installed in 2013. The new board will feature four main video screens, which are 16.4′ x 24.6′ apiece and a pair of underbelly displays at 5.75′ x 16.4′. A two-foot tall identification ring will encircle the entire board.

The Elliotts are natives of Mid-Missouri and have supported the success of Mizzou Athletics as Tiger Scholarship Fund donors and have directly impacted several programs, including men’s and women’s basketball and football.

“We are grateful to Tim, Crystal and their family for this incredible commitment to our basketball programs,” Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois said. “The Elliotts are dedicated supporters of Mizzou Athletics and strong leaders in our local community. This gift will help us continue to build a best-in-class fan and gameday experience inside Mizzou Arena and is another sign of the great momentum surrounding all of our programs.”

“We are excited to make this investment in Mizzou Basketball,” Tim and Crystal Elliott said. “The men’s basketball program has brought unbelievable energy to our campus, community and state this season. We are also committed to see our women’s basketball program win championships. This is the right time to invest in Mizzou Arena and take things to the next level.”

Both men’s and women’s basketball programs have seen attendance increases this season as the teams have combined for 25 home wins at Mizzou Arena. The men’s team has featured seven sellouts – the second most in the building’s history and the nearly 60-percent increase in attendance is the largest among teams from the Power 6 basketball conferences, averaging 11,337 fans per game.
