Missouri Receives NCAA Championship Seeding

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri wrestling program received its seeds for the 2022 NCAA Championship, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers will have nine qualifiers competing at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, March 17-19.

165-pound freshman Keegan O’Toole received the highest seed assignment for Mizzou. After being the No. 1 seed at the Big 12 Championships, the 2021 All-American and 2022 Big 12 Champion will wrestle as the No. 2 seed at the national tournament. O’Toole qualified through an automatic bid for the second consecutive season.

Also receiving top-10 seeding was junior Allan Hart as the No. 9 seed at 141 pounds and freshman Rocky Elam as the No. 7 seed at 197 pounds. Hart and Elam both qualified through an automatic bid after finishing second and third at the Big 12 Championships, respectively. 2022 will be Hart’s third NCAA qualification and Elam’s second in just two seasons.

The Tigers also received automatic bids from junior Jarrett Jacques (No. 25, 157 pounds) and redshirt sophomores Zach Elam (No. 16, 285 pounds), Jeremiah Kent (No. 17, 184 pounds) and Peyton Mocco (No. 11, 174 pounds).

Mizzou also qualified two wrestlers through at-large bids with redshirt freshman Noah Surtin qualifying for his second NCAA Championships as the No. 18 seed and freshman Josh Edmond at the No. 26 seed. A native of Detroit, Edmond will in his wrestle his first NCAA Championships in his hometown.
