Men’s Swim & Dive Set for NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – The University of Missouri men’s swimming and diving team head to Atlanta for the 2022 NCAA Division I NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships from March 23-26.

The Mizzou men open competition on Wednesday, March 23 with the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay, starting at 5 p.m. CT. Swimming prelims will start at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday through Saturday, followed by diving prelims at 11:30 a.m. CT. Finals are slated for 5 p.m. CT every day.

Five individuals will represent the Tigers. Seniors Jack Dahlgren and Danny Kovac and junior Ben Patton earned individual swimming bids. Junior Carlo Lopez and sophomore Takuto Endo will dive for Mizzou. Senior Jack Dubois, junior Kevin Hammer and freshmen Grant Bochenski and Calvin Windle will swim in relays only.

All four days of competition will be streamed on ESPN3. Live results will be availble online, on Meet Mobile and on DiveMeets.com.

NOTES

  • All three individual Tiger swimmers are seeded in the top-16 of their various events. Kovac is seeded 12th and 13th in the 200 fly and 200 IM, respectively. Dahlgren is seeded 10th in the 200 free, and Patton is seeded 13th in the 100 breast.
  • The Tiger men finished in seventh place at the 2022 SEC Championships last month.
  • Kovac and Dalgren have both qualified individually for NCAAs all four years of their careers.
  • Lopez’s NCAA berth marks the third of his career.
  • Patton and Endo will both be making their second NCAA appearances.

LAST SEASON

At the 2021 NCAA Championships, the Mizzou men finished in 16th place. Kovac earned First Team All-America honors in the 100 fly and 200 IM. The Tigers’ 400 medley relay also claimed First Team All-America accolades.

Dahlgren received All-America Honorable Mention accolades in the 200 free and 200 back. Patton also nabbed an All-America Honorable Mention honor in the 100 breast. Lopez claimed an All-America Honorable Mention honor on 1-meter. The 400 free relay and 800 free relay also earnred All-America Honorable Mention honors.
