Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Places Second at CMU Open

Fayette, Mo. – (Results) The Columbia College men’s outdoor track & field team competed for the first time in 2022 on Saturday at the CMU Open in Fayette, Mo.
 
The Cougars scored 122 points and placed second behind Central Methodist.
 
Columbia had three first-place performances – 4X800-meter relay (Carter Brocato, Brock Fisher, Peter Giles, Jacob Jenkins), Zane Torreyson (shot put), and Sam Markey (javelin).
 
Malachi Jackson scored a team-high 16 points after placing second in the 400-meter hurdles and third in the 110-meter hurdles. Jackson received first-place points in the 400-meter hurdles as the winner was running unattached.
 
Kenny Miller added 13 points with a second-place performance in the shot put and fourth-place in the discus.
 
The Cougars had 16 different players score in at least one event.
