Men’s Lacrosse Powers Past Missouri Valley

Columbia, Mo. – The (RV) Columbia College men’s lacrosse team played home tonight for a conference matchup against the Vikings of Missouri Valley College. Looking to make it three in a row against the Vikings, the Cougars rolled to a 20-2 win to move to 4-3 overall and 4-2 in KCAC play. 

Columbia started the game fast as they scored seven unanswered goals in the first quarter, followed by four more unanswered goals in the second. In the third quarter, the Vikings got themselves on the board, but the Cougars responded by outscoring Missouri Valley 9-2 in the second half of play.

  • Kail Mattis went 17-23 on face offs while registering eight ground balls
  • William Rusk had six ground balls, followed by Zach Baker with five, Peter Jones with four, and Tyler Parrott and Kellen Brechbill with three each
  • Bryce Peltier tallied four saves in goal, and Andrew Stapf finished with five
  • Columbia finished with 57 shots while holding Missouri Valley to just 22
