Men’s Golf Third After Day One at Tiger Intercollegiate

University of Missouri men’s golf opened its home tournament on Monday and after two rounds of play, the Tigers sit in third place of 18 schools.

Senior Jack Lundin leads Mizzou and is tied for first overall with an eight-under tally through two rounds. Lundin tallied 17 birdies in 36 holes of action as he carded a seven-under 64 in the opening round before adding a one-under 70 in round two. Lundin’s opening-round 64 is a career-best tally, topping his previous-best of 65 by one stroke. It is also tied for the ninth-lowest round in program history.

Sophomore Alfons Bondesson, freshman Brock Snyder and senior Charlie Crockett join Lundin in the top 20 through two rounds. Bondesson is seventh at -4 (66-72), while Snyder carded the two best scores of his young career to place 12th at -3 (70-69). Crockett rounded out the top-20 performances in 19th place at -1 (72-69).

Overall, the Tigers are in third place as a team with a nine-under tally through 36 holes. Central Arkansas leads the field at -15, followed by San Francisco at -10.

The final round starts on Tuesday morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
