Men’s Golf Set for Wyoming Cowboy Classic

The Mizzou men’s golf team is back in action this week, competing at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Chandler, Arizona.

TOURNAMENT INFO
The action is set to begin on Monday morning with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. CT. The schools are set for 36 holes of action on the opening day before concluding with a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.

The Tigers are one of 21 schools set to compete at the tournament. Joining the 50th-ranked Tigers are No. 28 San Diego State, No. 34 TCU, Denver, Grand Canyon, Iowa State, Kansas, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Southern Utah, St. Mary’s, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UNLV, UT Arlington, Utah State, Utah Valley, UTEP, Weber State and host Wyoming.

The tournament will be held on the Cattail Course at Whirlwind Golf Club, a par-72 course that measures 7,334 yards.

BONDESSON NAMED FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
After back-to-back top-five finishes, rookie Alfons Bondesson was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Wednesday.

Bondesson placed fourth at the Hootie at Bulls Bay last week, recording a 12-under 204. His 204 tally was a career-best score as he tallied a four-under 68 in all three rounds in South Carolina.
