Men’s Golf Returns to Action at UNLV

The Missouri Tigers men’s golf team will travel to Las Vegas to compete in the Southern Highlands Collegiate on Feb. 25-27. The action begins each day at 11 a.m. CT.

Mizzou enters the tournament coming off of a top-five finish at the National Invitational Tournament in Arizona. The Tigers competed against a crowded field of 18, finishing ahead of 17th-ranked Texas A&M, as well as LMU and TCU, both receiving votes.

COURSE OVERVIEW
The Southern Highlands Collegiate will tee off from the Southern Highlands Golf Club, an 18-hole course in the Las Vegas Valley. The course measures 7,537 yards.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The tournament field includes 15 teams, including eight teams ranked among Spikemark’s top-25 rankings. Playing alongside the Tigers are No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Auburn, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 15 Oklahoma, No. 16 New Mexico, No. 17 Illinois, No. 21 Texas, No. 23 Florida, Georgia, Pepperdine, San Diego State, TCU, Texas A&M and the host Rebels.

RESPECT IN THE RANKINGS
The Tigers sit at 34th in the NCAA Division I Rankings, boasting an adjusted scoring average of 279.5. The February 21st poll saw MU move up in the rankings for the second time in the spring season.

LUNDIN GETTING LOVE
Senior Jack Lundin was named SEC Men’s Golfer of the Week on February 7th. Lundin was coming off a fifth-place finish at the National Invitational Tournament, where he posted a career-low of 201 (-15) over 72 holes. He currently holds an individual rank of 27th in the country, with an average weighted points of 32.67.
