FALL RECAP
The men’s golf team looks to continue where it left off in the fall when it returns to action this week. The Tigers won one team title during the fall campaign, while adding two additional runner-up finishes. Junior Jack Lundin also added an individual crown at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, while rookie Antonio Safa posted back-to-back top-five finishes in just his second and third collegiate events to earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors on Oct. 20.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
Coach Hankins

“Our alumni challenge is two-fold. We are able to practice and do some competition between the team but also to spread some good will, see our alumni, play with members and do some things that will help our kids grow in a different way. It was a very successful trip. We had solid weather and got a look at some of the courses we’ll be playing this spring.”

Jack Lundin
“We got a look at the course. We learned a lot about what we need to practice and get better at before this upcoming tournament. Just be prepared for what the tournament has to offer.”

Charlie Crockett
“My goals for the tournament are to execute the game plan the best that I can and just make sure that we enjoy our time down there.”

Alfons Bondesson
“I take every tournament as the same. I just try to do my best. I don’t care if it’s the first tournament or the last tournament, I just try to play the best that I can.”

DJ Springer
“I think the winning team is going to play really well on the greens. They are pretty quick and a little different grass than we are used to out there. So, we getting down there a couple days early so spend a lot of time on the putting green and just make sure we have the speed dialed in. I think if we go out there and putt well, I think we’ll have a great chance to win it.”

Dawson Meek
“(Qualifying during Alumni Challenge) was really close. It came down to a few strokes between fourth and fifth. It was good to feel the tournament adrenaline again. Having some shots under pressure was nice because it lets you know where your game is at.”

Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson
“It was really nice to go out to South Carolina and play with the guys. We had good weather and I really like the course a lot. It was playing decently firm and the greens were really good.”
