Competing in one of its most competitive tournaments of the fall semester, the Missouri men’s golf team sits in fourth place of 10 schools after day one of The Williams Cup.

The Tigers carded a 592 during the first two rounds of action, trailing only three schools ranked in the top six of the latest coaches poll. No. 1 North Carolina (560), No. 2 Auburn (575) and No. 6 Arizona State (585) lead the pack with Mizzou in fourth.

Sophomore Alfons Bondesson leads the Tigers at two under through 36 holes of action, carding an opening-round 69 before following up with a 73 in the afternoon session. Sitting in third place overall, Bondesson collected 10 birdies on the day as was just one of nine golfers to finish under par after two rounds.

Senior Jack Lundin is second on the team and 13th overall at one-over (74-71) and had the highlight of the day for Mizzou with a hole-in-one on hole No. 2 during the first round of action.

Mizzou tees off the final round of action at 7:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning.
