Men’s Cross Country Finishes Second at XC 23 Pre-Nationals

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Cross Country men’s team finished second while the Tiger women came in 21st at the XC 23 Pre-Nationals Saturday morning in Charlottesville, Va.

The Missouri men compiled 73 points while the women totaled 529.

The Tigers had three men finish with top 20 results in the 8k as sophomore Ryder James paced the Black and Gold in ninth with a time of 24:36.7. Junior Blake Morris (24:39.6) and sophomore Drew Rogers (24:45.6) came across the line in 11th and 16th, respectively.

Senior Jenna Schwartz paced the Missouri women with a 6k time of 21:00.0 to finish 50th.

NOTABLE RESULTS

  • James has finished inside the top 20 in all three races this season
  • Sophomore Austin Popplewell finished 28th with a time of 24:54.7
  • Sophomore Luke Voelker (25:04.4) and junior Quentin Worley (25:04.8) completed the course in 32nd and 33rd, respectively
  • Schwartz, Nicole Louw (21:41.2) and Mikayla Reed (21:53.7) have been top four Tiger finishers in each competition this season.
