Men’s Basketball Wins AMC Road Game

St. Louis, Mo. – The Columbia College men’s basketball team is back in the win column after defeating the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy on the road, 75-56. 
 
The Cougars improve to 8-9 overall, and 2-1 in American Midwest Conference (AMC) play with the win. The Eutectics fall to 5-8 and 1-1 in the AMC. 
 
CC scored 20 of the first 30 points and led 20-10 just over the halfway mark of the first half. The Cougars saw their lead grow to a first-half high of 19 (38-19) after Chima Oduocha scored two of his game-high 20 points. Columbia led 40-22 at the break. 
 
The Eutectics started chipping away in the second half, getting within 11 points (54-43) at the 11:26 mark, but CC responded with a 13-0 run over the next 5:30 of game time to increase their lead to 24 (67-43). 
 
Chima Oduocha led the Cougars with 20 points and ten rebounds, picking up his third double-double on the season and the sixth of his career. Dogukan Kara added a career-best four assists, while Carson Parker tied his career-high with two steals.
 
Key Moment:
After UHSP took an 8-7 lead, the Cougars responded with a 13-2 run and never trailed from that point on.

15-26 – The Cougars had 15 offensive rebounds and scored 26-second chance points
32-19 – Columbia’s bench points compared to UHSP’s bench.
