Men’s Basketball Unveils 2023-24 Non-Conference Slate

Mizzou Arena

COLUMBIA, Mo.  – Eight home games and 10 contests in the state of Missouri highlight the 2023-24 Mizzou men’s basketball schedule, released on Thursday afternoon.

Overall, the Tigers are slated to play one of their more challenging schedules in years with five games against power conference opponents and seven contests against schools from the nation’s top seven conferences.

The 2023-24 season officially opens on Nov. 6 when the Tigers welcome Arkansas-Pine Bluff to Columbia – the first of three-straight home games to open the campaign. Missouri then hosts the defending American Athletic Conference champion in Memphis on Nov. 10 in a matchup of two schools that finished the 2022-23 season ranked in the AP Top 25, before wrapping up its homestand on Nov. 13 against SIU Edwardsville.

The Tigers hit the road for the first time with a Nov. 16 contest at Minnesota before the team’s second three-game home stand against Jackson State (Nov. 19), South Carolina State (Nov. 22) and Loyola Maryland (Nov. 25). Mizzou then plays at Pittsburgh on Nov. 28 in the ACC/SEC Challenge before returning to Columbia to face Wichita State on Dec. 3.

A pair of rivalry games are sandwiched around the team’s first trip to Kansas City in four years during the month of December. The Hy-Vee Hoops Border Showdown returns on Dec. 9 at Kansas before a neutral-site contest against Seton Hall at T-Mobile Center on Dec. 17.  The Tigers then head into the holiday break with their traditional McBride Homes Braggin’ Rights matchup versus Illinois on Friday, Dec. 22 in St. Louis.

Mizzou wraps up non-conference action on Dec. 30 with a home game against Central Arkansas.

Fresh off a season that featured 25 wins – their most in 11 seasons – the Tigers look to continue their ascent under second-year Whitten Family Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dennis Gates. During the 2022-23 campaign, Mizzou defeated six nationally-ranked schools, won its first NCAA Tournament game in 13 seasons and advanced to the SEC Tournament semifinals for the first time in program history.
