The Missouri men’s basketball team returns home to face nationally-ranked Texas A&M on Saturday. The Tigers host the Aggies – who are No. 25 in the latest coaches poll – for a 5 p.m. start on ESPN2.

PROMOTIONS
• A white out is set for Saturday game with all fans encouraged to wear white against the Aggies.
• Saturday is also Mizzou’s Rally for Rhyan game with all donations being accepted to help fight childhood cancer.
• The eighth-annual Rally for Rhyan game, MU has raised $446,000 during its first seven games.

ABOUT THE TIGERS
• Mizzou owns a 19-7 record during the 2023-24 season with a 7-6 record in SEC play.
• Mizzou is receiving votes in both national polls.
• The Tigers have won five of their last seven games, including their last three at home.
• Senior Kobe Brown leads Missouri with 16.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
• D’Moi Hodge (13.8) and DeAndre Gholston (10.5) follow Brown and also score 10-plus points.
• Sean East II leads MU with 2.9 assists per game.
• Mizzou ranks 18th in the country with a scoring offense of 81.1, while allowing 75.7 points.

ABOUT THE AGGIES
• Texas A&M has won its last four games and sits in second place in the SEC with an 11-2 record.
• Overall, the Aggies are 19-7 this season, ranking No. 25 in the coaches poll.
• Wade Taylor IV leads the Aggies with 15.3 points and 4.1 assists per game.
• Tyrece Radford and Henry Coleman III add 13.5 and 10.0 points, respectively, with Coleman also leading the team with 6.0 boards.
• The Aggies are averaging 74.5 points per game, while allowing 66.1 on defense.

SERIES HISTORY
• In a series that dates back to 1969 and has been played annually since 1996-97, Texas A&M holds a slight all-time edge over the Tigers, 23-20.
• The Aggies have also won their last three games in Mizzou Arena for a 9-8 edge in Columbia.
• The schools met on Jan. 11 with the host Aggies winning, 82-64. MU cut an early 21-point deficit to four before Texas A&M held on for the win.

HOME SWEET HOME
• MU has enjoyed a strong home-court advantage during the 2022-23 season.
• Behind five sellouts (plus announced sellouts against Texas A&M and Ole Miss), the Tigers own a 14-2 record at Mizzou Arena this year.
• Mizzou is tied for sixth nationally with 14 home wins – two behind national leader Fordham at 16.
• It is the Tigers’ most home wins since going 16-3 during the 2013-14 campaign.

TOP MARKS IN 2022-23
• Overall, the Tigers are enjoying one of their best seasons in years during the 2022-23 campaign.
• With a 19-7 overall record and with at least six games left, Missouri already has its most wins in a season since totaling 20 in 2017-18.
• It hasn’t come easy for the Tigers as the team’s five ranked wins are its most in the last 11 years.
• MU finished the non-conference campaign 12-1 – its best mark since also going 12-1 in 2013-14.

GATES FOR COACH OF THE YEAR
• With an impressive debut season, Whitten Family Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dennis Gates was honored among the nation’s best on Friday.
• Gates was named to the Werner Ladder Naismith College Coach of the Year Late Season Watch List.
• Gates is one of 15 coaches named to the list, as well as one of two from the SEC and just one of four coaches in their first year at a school.

GATES BY THE NUMBERS
• Dennis Gates is enjoying one of the best seasons by a Mizzou coach in their debut season and one of the best in recent SEC history.
• Gates has led Mizzou to 19 wins this season – the third-most by a first-year Tigers head coach.
• The most wins by a first-year SEC coach since MU joined the league is 21 (of 24 first-year coaches).

TOP-20 SCORING OFFENSE
• One of the biggest keys to success this season for Mizzou is owning a top scoring attack.
• Mizzou enters the game ranked 18th nationally with a scoring offense of 81.1 points.
• In fact, the Tigers’ 81.1 points rank as the eighth-best mark in their history.

TARGETING 70 POINTS
• While the Tigers are averaging over 80 points this season, the magic number is just 70 for MU.
• MU has won its last 22 games when scoring at least 70, including a perfect 18-0 mark this year.
• On the opposite end, Mizzou is just 1-7 this year when held under the target – losing 25 of its last 26 games overall with 69 or fewer points.
