The University of Missouri men’s basketball team added its second player during the spring transfer window, signing Tony Perkins on Monday.

Ranked as high as the No. 13 transfer nationally by CBS Sports and a two-time All-Big Ten honoree, Perkins helped lead Iowa to 86 wins during his four-year career, 47 conference victories, three NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2022 Big Ten Tournament title. Overall, Perkins amassed 1,175 points, 398 rebounds, 321 assists and 137 steals during his four years with the Hawkeyes.

“Tony is a complete player and a piece that fills an essential position for our program,” said Whitten Family Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dennis Gates. “He brings great size and physicality for his position, while his experience running a power-conference program will translate quickly at Mizzou and in the SEC. He is a multi-faceted player who can score, distribute and rebound, while playing exceptional defense on the other end. What separates him is his toughness and unselfishness, epitomizing our eight core values.”

Earning second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2023-24, Perkins ranked second on Iowa with 14.0 points per game this past season, while leading the team with 158 assists and 54 steals. Perkins finished the campaign ranked 77th nationally with 4.6 assists per game and 65th with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.39, while also adding 4.4 rebounds per game.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Perkins is one of just three players in Iowa history with 1,100 points, 375 rebounds, 300 assists and 130 steals. He started the last 81 games for the Hawkeyes and also received honorable mention to the All-Big Ten team in 2022-23.

Perkins joins Jacob Crews – a top-20 3-point shooter nationally – as early signees for the Tigers during the spring transfer window. The duo is part of the No. 4 transfer class in the nation and joins the country’s No. 4 freshman class that signed in November.
