Men’s Basketball Earns No. 2-Seed in AMC Tournament With Win

Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The Columbia College men’s basketball team secured the No. 2-seed in the upcoming American Midwest Conference (AMC) post-season tournament with an 81-58 win at Williams Baptist to close out the regular season. 
 
Columbia improves to 19-11 and 13-3 in the AMC, while WBU falls to 15-11 and 7-9 in conference play. 
 
Williams Baptist took a 26-20 lead with 7:03 remaining, but Columbia went on a 14-2 run to end the half with the 34-28 advantage. 
 
Columbia’s lead reached double figures (40-30) at the 17:56 mark. Williams Baptist cut the deficit down to eight (40-32), but that was the last time the Cougar lead was in the single digits as they cruised to a 23-point win. 
 
Key Moment:
After Williams Baptist got within eight points (40-32) with 18:40 left in the game, Columbia went on an 11-4 run to regain control of the game.
