Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College men’s basketball team advanced to the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Men’s Basketball Tournament Semifinals with an 81-53 win against Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) on Thursday.
The Cougars held a 9-4 advantage with 16:32 remaining in the first half, after Collin Parker drained a 3-point field goal. Columbia’s lead would increase to double-digits after a Cole Gerken made free throw with 5:09 left, 34-24. The Cougars would end the half on a 9-0 run and led by 15 (46-31) at the intermission.
Columbia extended the lead to 20 (55-35) with 14:56 remaining in the game and led by 20+ the rest of the game.
The Cougars shot 51.7-percent (31-60) from the field and 50.0-percent (12-24) for the game.
