Maple & Bradley Set For Action At World Team Trials

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri associate head coach Kendric Maple and volunteer assistant coach Dom Bradley will be in action on the mat this weekend at the 2022 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, set for Saturday and Sunday in Coralville, Iowa.

Maple is the No. 1 seed at 65 kg while Bradley is the No. 4 seed at 125 kg. In both weight classes, the semifinalists will advance to Final X New York on June 8, 2022, USA Wrestling’s last step in the process to determine the 2022 World Team. Both Tigers will wrestle representing Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club.

Maple and Bradley earned byes out of the first round and will first take the mat in quarterfinals bout 27 and 54, respectively. 

Wrestling for the first time since 2018 at the recent USMC US Open in Las Vegas, Maple was named Outstanding Wrestler in the freestyle and took home his second national title. He returned to the mat to honor a deal with 2022 Mizzou National Champion Keegan O’Toole following O’Toole’s U20 World Championship title.

Bradley was runner-up to Hayden Zillmer at the U.S. Open. The former three-time All-American at Mizzou has won a pair of U.S. Opens in his career, the most recent coming in 2016. In 2020, Bradley wrestled into the semifinals at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials following his qualification via a 1st-place finish at the U.S. Senior Nationals in 2019.
