Lundin Earns Fourth SEC Golfer of the Week Honors

Jack Lundin

For the fourth time this season, senior Jack Lundin of the University of Missouri men’s golf program was named SEC Golfer of the Week.

Lundin has saved his best for last as the senior earned the accolade on Wednesday for winning his first individual title of the season. Lundin collected medalist honors at The Hootie at Bulls Bay on Tuesday for his third career title overall.

The senior added to his trophy case after winning the tournament in a three-hole playoff over conference foes Frankie Harris of South Carolina and Jay Mendell of LSU. Lundin forced the playoff with a birdie on the final hole of the three-day tournament before emerging victorious in the extra holes of play for the first outright title of his collegiate career. He carded a six-under 210 over the three rounds (71-69-70) to beat out a field that included 81 golfers, including four ranked schools and three SEC rivals.

Currently ranked as the No. 23 golfer in the college ranks, Lundin collected the weekly accolade for the fourth time this season – also doing so on Sept. 21, Feb. 7 and March 14. He extended his streak of top-five finishes to four straight and in six of nine tournaments overall this season as he owns a 69.56 stroke average in 27 rounds.

Lundin and Mizzou return to action in nearly two weeks, hosting the Tiger Intercollegiate at The Club at Old Hawthorne. The two-day tournament is set to begin on Monday, April 8.
