COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri head tennis coach Bianca Turati announced the signing of Croatia native Korina Roso on Wednesday, Dec. 13, who will join the Mizzou tennis program in the fall of 2024 as a freshman.

Hailing from Isusovacka Klasicna Gimnazija (Jesuit Gymnasium) for her high school education, Roso secured the win at the International Tennis Federation J30 Moster Open 18&U in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she earned the title out of 32 competitors in September of 2023.

“I’m so happy that Korina has decided to join and be a part of our Mizzou tennis program! Korina is very talented and determined,” said Turati when describing Roso. “She has an unmatched passion for the sport as well as a great fighting spirit on the court. I strongly believe she will do great things for Mizzou and be a very good leader on the team.”

Sitting at a 30-11 overall record for 2023 reason, Roso advanced to the final round of the 2023 ITF Slovenian Junior Open in Slovenia, where she competed against 64 athletes to snag the runner-up slot of the entire tournament. Roso also captured the runner-up title of the ITF Hotel Makar Open in November 2023 after competing in five rounds of play in Hungary.

“I love the spirit and the general support that athletes receive here. The campus speaks for itself; it is absolutely beautiful,” said Roso when discussing her decision to sign with Mizzou tennis. “I also love the girls on the team, and they made me feel like I am already a part of the team. I believe that under this program, I will not only improve as a tennis player but also mature as a person.”
