One of the country’s top post players is headed to Mizzou as the Tigers signed Jordan Butler to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.

Ranked sixth in his position by Rivals, Butler completes a three-player class during the early signing period for Missouri men’s basketball. The Tigers currently own the nation’s 17th-ranked class, according to 247Sports.

“We can’t wait to have Jordan Butler donning the Mizzou jersey and joining our family next season,” said Whitten Family Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dennis Gates. “His skill set is a perfect fit for our system as he has the ability to pass and make decisions, play on the perimeter, stretch the floor beyond the arc and also dominate in the pinch post area. During the recruiting process, we identified size as a target area and Jordan is one of the most skilled versatile forwards in the country. He has a tremendous pedigree and comes from a basketball family who fits with well within our culture. We look forward to working with Jordan and him being a part of the Missouri program as his future is very bright.”

During his junior campaign at Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, South Carolina, Butler averaged 14.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game as he collected all-state honors from the SCBCA. The seven-foot center also helped lead the Cavaliers to their first state championship in 2021, tallying 10.0 points and 6.5 boards en route to the AA title as a sophomore.

Butler also has experience on the international stage as the participated in the USA Men’s Junior National Team camp in 2021.

“Jordan is a special player who has both skill and size,” said Chris Church Episcopal head coach John Butler. “He uses his unique ability to create major matchup problems. Many people think shooting is his best attribute but it is actually being a great teammate. He really cares about the well being of his brothers and teammates. This team-first mentality lifts everyone that plays with him.”

Butler completes a three-player class as point guard Anthony Robinson II and wing Trent Pierce signed with the Tigers earlier in the day. The top-20 class marks the second-straight ranked class for Gates as Mizzou head coach as he inked the nation’s No. 2 transfer class during the spring of 2022.
