Javon Pickett Named to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Missouri men’s basketball senior Javon Pickett was named to the 2022 SEC Community Service Team, announced by the league office Thursday morning.

A leader on and off the court, Pickett has led Mizzou in its community service efforts this season in a variety of areas. He has been an active member of the community, working with the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia in a variety of fashions, including a basketball workshop. He also spent time serving The Food Bank for Central & Northeaster Missouri, helping package and distribute food to the local community. Pickett has spent a considerable amount of time giving back to his campus community as well, volunteering at the Mizzou Halloween Trick-or-Treat event and doing various campus outreach activities.

Pickett is having a solid senior season, averaging 11.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. The senior is shooting 46 percent from the floor against conference opponents and has 14-consecutive double-digit scoring efforts in SEC play.  

Pickett is a member of the 14-person team, with one representative from each school. This year marks the 24th year oof the SEC Community Service team for SEC basketball.
