Hopper Chosen By Packers In Round Three Of NFL Draft

Hopper - 2023 at Georgia

DETROIT – University of Missouri linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper was the third-round choice of the Green Bay Packers with pick 91 in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Hopper is the third Mizzou player to be selected among the first 91 picks in this year’s draft, the first time since 2009 MU has had a selection in each of the first three rounds.

A native of Shelby, N.C., Hopper earned Second-Team All-SEC honors by the conference’s coaches in 2023, while also becoming the third Tiger ever named as a finalist for the Butkus Award (Nick Bolton, Sean Weatherspoon). Through 10 games this season before being sidelined by an injury for the final two regular season contests, Hopper led the team with 55 tackles and wreaked havoc in the backfield with six TFL’s and three sacks.

In 22 starts at MU, he posted 133 tackles, including 20 for a loss along with 5.5 sacks. His 49 QB pressures since 2022 rank third among all SEC linebackers.

Prior to joining Missouri, Hopper spent three seasons at Florida, appearing in 28 games and making four starts for the Gators from 2019-21.

At Missouri’s pro day, Hopper clocked a 4.68-second 40 with a 36-inch vertical jump.

The NFL Draft concludes on Saturday with rounds 4-7 starting at 11 a.m. CT with coverage on ESPN and NFL Network.
