COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri gymnastics team announced the addition of Ayla Acevedo (Virginia Beach, Va.) to the 2024 signing class, head coach Shannon Welker confirmed on Wednesday.

“We are excited to officially welcome Ayla to Tiger Gymnastics,” Welker said. “She is a quick and powerful gymnast with so much potential.  Ayla will immediately fit into the winning culture we have at Missouri!”

Acevedo joins the Tigers from Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she competed under head coach Erin Berry at Ocean Tumblers. At the club level, Acevedo qualified for DP Nationals twice and won three state titles in the all-around, bars and floor at the 2023 Virginia State Championships.
