Golan Adds Mario Felix to Staff

Mario Felix

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri soccer head coach Stefanie Golan has announced the addition of Mario Felix to the staff as the volunteer assistant. Felix joins the Tigers after spending the past two seasons as the associate head coach at Southern Utah. He briefly served as the head coach at Chicago State before opting to be a part of the Missouri staff.

“We are thrilled to add Mario to our coaching staff,” Golan said. “He is an awesome person, first and foremost, and he brings a passion for developing student-athletes off the field and investing in the whole person in addition to his coaching experience. He brings a fresh perspective and is someone that both the staff and the student-athletes will enjoy! We can’t wait to get to work!”

At Southern Utah, Felix helped the Thunderbirds to their best record since 2005 during the 2020-21 season. Prior to joining SUU, he served as an assistant coach at UC Santa Barbara for two seasons where he led UCSB to the Big West Tournament final in 2018.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a great staff.” Felix said, “From the beginning, it was apparent (Stefanie Golan) values the quality of people involved with this program and the well-being of the student-athletes at Mizzou. We definitely align in the holistic but competitive approach to the game, and I’m excited to get going”.

Felix has also served as a head coach at Bethel College (KS), an assistant at MidAmerica Nazarene University and Director of Operations at Kansas.
