Frantz and Howell Compete at NAIA Indoor Championships

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Two members of the Columbia College men’s indoor track and field team traveled to Brookings, S.D. to compete in the 2024 NAIA Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend.

Gavin Frantz (Graduate Student l Hannibal, Mo.) secured a 16th place finish in the men’s weight throw recording a throw of 17.45-meters at the NAIA Indoor Championships. Frantz came off a first place finish in weight throw at the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Indoor Track and Field Championships recording a 17.64-meter throw. Frantz’ best throw of the season came earlier this season at the Washburn Invite with a throw of 17.88-meters.

Brenin Howell (Freshman l Westran, Mo.) competed in men’s shot put, placing 27th with a result of 14.99-meters. Howell achieved his college-best in shot put at the AMC Indoor Track and Field Championships finishing first with a 15.71-meter throw.

The duo will look to continue their success into the outdoor track and field season, beginning with the Miner Invite on March 23.
