COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Women’s Basketball head coach Robin Pingeton announced the addition of Julia Ford to her staff on Wednesday. Ford will serve as special assistant to the head coach.

Ford joins the program from Coastal Carolina where she worked as an assistant coach last season. With the Chanticleers, she led the development of two All-Sun Belt honorees.

“I am thankful and humbled to be a member of the Mizzou women’s basketball program,” Ford said. “Coach Pingeton has created an environment of growth and a culture that holds student-athletes to a high standard on and off the court. I am excited to work closely with an incredibly motivated group of young women and learn from Coach Pingeton and her staff.”

Prior to her time in Conway, South Carolina, Ford served as a graduate assistant for two seasons at Clemson. With the Tigers, she helped players in both on and off-court settings aiding their improvement through instructional training, film, and character development.

She also assisted the staff with opponent scouts, managing food vendors, recruiting mail-outs, and supervising the practice team.

“We are thrilled to welcome Julia to our staff,” Pingeton said. “She brings a versatile skillset that will impact many areas of the program. As a former player and a team captain, she understands the work it takes to succeed at the collegiate level. She is an individual of high character and shares a great passion for developing athletes on and off the floor. I have no doubt that she has a bright future in the profession.”

In the summers of 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2021, Ford worked with the USA women’s basketball program, preparing elite athletes and coaches for competition through facilitating practice and accommodations. She also captured, cut, organized, and distributed film to support scouting and team development. Ford provided operational support by coordinating gear distribution, packing, and organizing equipment for competition and travel.

Ford played basketball at Bentley University under Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens.

A Bentley class of 2020 graduate, Ford holds dual bachelor’s degrees in media and culture and information design and corporate communication.
