Football’s Offensive Line Selected For Joe Moore Award’s Midseason Honor Roll

Offensive Line vs Memphis - 2023

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri football team’s offensive line was tabbed by the Joe Moore Award for its midseason honor roll, The Foundation for Teamwork announced.

The Joe Moore Award for the Most Outstanding Offensive Line Unit in College Football has been presented annually since 2015.

The Tigers offense has averaged 33.9 points per game behind the strong offensive line play of LT Javon Foster, LG Xavier Delgado, C Connor Tollison, RG Cam’Ron Johnson and RT Armand Membou. Marcellus Johnson has spent time in the starting five as well.

Mizzou ranks fourth in the SEC in total and passing offense, averaging 445.4 yards per game overall and 305.6 yards per game through the air, respectively. MU allows under two sacks per game (1.86) which ranks fifth in the SEC.

Foster was a midseason Second-Team All-America selection by the Associated Press and a first-team honoree by a number of other outlets.

“The offensive line units on the 2023 Midseason Honor Roll have caught the attention of the committee through the October 14 weekend, by demonstrating some or all of the award criteria in a recognizable way,” said Cole Cubelic, chairman of the Joe Moore Award voting committee. “The bar will raise significantly from here, and the consistency required to earn further recognition will be how the elite units eventually separate themselves.”

Semifinalists for the 2023 award will be announced on Nov. 14 and finalists on Dec. 5. Selection of the 2023 Joe Moore Award winner will be made public after a surprise visit to the winning university’s campus in late December.

The No. 20 Tigers return to action this weekend in the battle for the Mayor’s Cup against South Carolina. The game kicks off from a sold out Faurot Field/Memorial Stadium at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 21. MU celebrates its 112th homecoming with the annual parade starting the day at 9 a.m. through the streets of Downtown Columbia.
