Darius Robinson Named SEC Defensive Player Of The Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri defensive end Darius Robinson was named Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. 

Robinson was also tabbed by the Reese’s Senior Bowl as its co-defensive player of the week. He led the Tigers defense in a road win over No. 23 Kentucky on Saturday. The senior captain totaled six tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss and a career high 2.0 sacks. It was the first multiple sack game of his career. The Tigers’ defense held UK to seven points and 149 yards of total offense after trailing 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. 

The No. 20 Tigers return home to face the South Carolina Gamecocks in Mizzou’s 112th Homecoming game on Sat., Oct. 21. Kickoff at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field is set for 2:30 p.m. CT and the game will air on SEC Network and Tiger Radio Network. The two teams play for the Mayor’s Cup.
